Campaign rejected
Your advertising campaigns may be rejected by advertising platforms such as Meta (Facebook, Instagram) or Google for non-compliance with advertising policies. Here are the most common reasons and tips on how to fix them:
1. Failure to comply with advertising policies
Each platform has strict guidelines regarding ad content. Common violations include:
- Inappropriate or offensive content: Ads containing images or messages deemed offensive or inappropriate are automatically rejected.
- Prohibited products or services: The promotion of certain products, such as illegal substances, weapons, or tobacco products, is prohibited.
➡️ Solution: Before submitting your campaign, review the advertising policies of the relevant platform to ensure that your content complies.
2. Copyright issue
Copyright is the most common reason for campaign rejection. Even if you use your own music, Meta may block distribution if your account is not properly authorized.
Why? Because Meta verifies the rights to use the tracks.
If your distributor has not whitelisted your Instagram and Facebook accounts, Meta considers that you do not have the necessary rights, even if you are the artist or label.
➡️ Solution: Before launching your campaign, ask your distributor to whitelist your Instagram and Facebook accounts. Once this step has been completed, your campaign can launch as normal.
ADVICE: For more information, see this article.
3. Carousel problem
Carousels are subject to numerous rules on Meta, which very often leads to rejections.
Here are the main limitations:
- ❌ Carousels containing a mix of photos and videos cannot be used.
- ❌ Carousels are only allowed for engagement campaigns.
👉 In summary: carousels are a risky format, and we strongly recommend not using them for your campaigns. If you still want to use a carousel visual, opt for a ghost post, which bypasses these restrictions.
4. Problem with collaborative post
A collaborative post between two accounts can only be sponsored if the post originates from the account launching the ad.
This means that if the artist connected to Ctrl+Reach is not the author of the post, Meta will automatically reject the campaign.
➡️ Solution: If you still want to sponsor this content, use a ghost post, which allows you to republish the content without depending on the original collaborative post.
5. Advertising settings
To launch an ad on Meta, the artist must enable personalized ads in their Instagram settings.
If the artist has enabled the paid option “See fewer personalized ads,” Meta will block any campaign creation, as the account is no longer eligible for advertising.
➡️ See our dedicated article to learn how to change this setting.
6. Content quality (existing post)
Meta may reject content if it does not meet minimum quality standards.
➡️ Rule to remember:
- Your image or video must be larger than 500 px.
- Below this threshold, the campaign will be automatically rejected, so you will need to change the content.
ADVICE: To avoid technical problems, we invite you to read our article on formats and dimensions.
7. Ineligible publication
Some posts simply cannot be sponsored, particularly when they contain:
- Event tags
- Product tags
Meta then considers the post ineligible for advertising.
➡️ Solutions:
- Either choose another post,
- Or reuse the same content but via a ghost post, which removes the problematic tags.
If your campaign is rejected, carefully review the reason and make the necessary corrections. Once you have done so, you can relaunch a new campaign.
