Focus : Popularity Index
The popularity index is a performance metric available on Spotify. Ranging from 0 to 100, it reflects how popular a track is at a given time, the higher the score, the more the song is currently being streamed.
This metric is available on CtrlReach only for listener campaigns (singles, albums, and playlists).
Please note: the popularity index is not calculated for an album or playlist as a whole, but individually for each track within the album or playlist.
How to read your results
The popularity index corresponds to the blue curve on CtrlReach. It is displayed in a graph alongside a second curve representing your streams, allowing you to observe the correlation between the two.
In this graph:
- The left axis shows the values related to your streams.
- The right axis shows your popularity values.
- The bottom axis represents the time period being analyzed.

The main element to look at is your overall score displayed at the top, it is rated out of 100.

How to interpret it:
- Below 20/100: low score → your track has very few recent listens; it is not being pushed by the Spotify algorithm.
- Between 21 and 40/100: average score → you have some regular listens, but not yet significant algorithmic reach.
- Between 41 and 60/100: good score → your track is starting to be detected by Spotify’s algorithm and is gradually finding its audience.
- Above 61/100: excellent score → Spotify is regularly pushing your track; this is very positive for increasing your streams and indicates strong organic growth.
The small indicator inside the green box corresponds to the number of points gained between the start and end of your campaign.
As you run more campaigns, your popularity index can increase significantly.
Now it’s your turn!
